How to Write a Product Listing That Sells
Lead with what the buyer gets and the problem it removes, then answer the questions that stop a purchase: size, compatibility, delivery and returns. Facts close sales better than adjectives.
Have this ready
- Product facts and dimensions
- Your own photos
- Delivery and returns policy
Step by step
- 1Write one sentence naming who the product is for and the outcome it gives.
- 2List the three objections that stop people buying and answer each in a line.
- 3Put the facts people search for in the title and first paragraph: size, material, compatibility.
- 4Use your own photos at consistent angles, including one with a scale reference.
- 5State delivery time, returns and what is in the box plainly.
- 6Remove superlatives you cannot prove and any claim a competitor could challenge.
- 7Read it once as a sceptical buyer and cut anything that does not help them decide.

Common questions
How long should a listing be?+
As long as needed to answer the buying questions, usually a few hundred words with short paragraphs and bullets.
Do keywords belong in the description?+
Natural phrases people search for, yes; keyword stuffing reads badly and does not help ranking.
Should I mention competitors?+
No. Compare to the problem, not to a named rival, which invites complaints and platform penalties.
