Know the odds before you play

The intelligence an insider would give you: what each game really costs per bet, the skill that genuinely lowers that cost, how to read a bookmaker's margin, and how to spot the people selling wins that cannot exist. You play; you log in yourself; this teaches you what the numbers mean.

No system, tipster or model can predict a round, a spin or a match. Casino games carry a fixed house edge and each round is independent, so the only certainty is the long-run cost. Anything promising a guaranteed win is fraud. If gambling is already causing you harm, use the limits and self-exclusion routes below before anything else.

Ask the odds analyst

Ask about any game, operator or offer. You get the documented house edge, the skill that moves you to the better end of the range, and what to check yourself. No predictions — those do not exist.

What a session really costs

Blackjack (basic strategy)

The lowest edge in a casino when played correctly. 6:5 blackjack payouts are far worse than 3:2 — check the table rule first.

0.5–2%98–99.5%Memorise basic strategy and never take insurance; rule variations (dealer hits soft 17, payout 6:5) move the edge a lot.

Baccarat — Banker bet

Player bet is about 1.24%; Tie is roughly 14% — the worst bet on the table.

1.06–1.24%98.76–98.94%Always bet Banker; the 5% commission is already priced in. Ignore patterns and scoreboards.

Craps — pass line with odds

The line bet is 1.41%. Many craps side bets are 5-16% — skip them.

0–1.41%98.59–100%Pass/come with the maximum odds bet: the odds portion has zero house edge.

Stake Dice

Stake Originals publish a 1% house edge on Dice across multipliers. Martingale-style stake doubling does not change expected value and runs into table limits.

1–1%99–99%Nothing changes the edge; payout and win chance are inverse. Choose a payout you understand.

Stake Crash

Auto-cashout removes the temptation to hold, but the expected value is the same.

1–3%97–99%Set a cash-out target before the round. The edge does not move with the multiplier you pick.

Stake Plinko

Each drop is independent. Row patterns from previous drops carry no information.

1–4%96–99%Low-risk rows have the smallest edge; high-risk has the widest spread and the worst average.

Stake Mines

More mines means higher variance, not a better edge.

1–4%96–99%Cash out early: the edge is baked into the payout curve, not the number of mines.

Stake Keno

Keno is one of the fastest ways to lose a stake because rounds take seconds.

2–8%92–98%Fewer numbers and low-risk mode sit at the better end.

Roulette — European

There is no staking system that beats a fixed edge. Progression systems just change the shape of the losses.

2.7–2.7%97.3–97.3%Even-money outside bets only; avoid the American wheel with double zero (5.26%).

Slots

RTP is measured over millions of spins. Volatility decides how the ride feels, not the long-run cost.

1–10%90–99%Read the published RTP per game; pick the highest one and the lowest stake per spin.

Video poker (Jacks or Better)

Paytables differ: a 9/6 machine is far better than 8/5. Check before you play.

0.5–3%97–99.5%Play the optimal strategy card exactly; one wrong hold costs more than the paytable looks like.

Sportsbook

Margins show up as the overround: add the implied probabilities of both sides and the excess is the book's cut. Anyone selling guaranteed winners is selling something that cannot exist.

2–8%92–98%Compare prices across books and take the best line; the margin is the edge, so line shopping is the only free improvement.

Ranges, not promises: rules and providers change the numbers. Check the game's own rules page for its current RTP before you play.

The controls that actually protect your money

  • Deposit and loss limits

Every licensed operator must offer them. Set them below what you would spend on a night out, and set them before you play, not after a loss.

  • Time limits and reality checks

Ask support to enable session reminders. Long sessions are where losses compound, not the odds.

  • Self-exclusion

Request exclusion in the operator's account settings, then register with your national self-exclusion scheme so it covers every operator at once.

  • Cooling-off

A 24-hour or 7-day block is reversible; exclusion is not. Use cooling-off after a big loss instead of chasing it.

  • Close the account properly

Withdraw the balance first, then request closure in writing, then confirm by email. Keep the emails.

  • Dispute route

Complain to the operator first, keep the reference, then escalate to its regulator or ADR body. Screenshots and timestamps win disputes.

How to use this with the rest of the app

You sign in to the operator yourself, in your own session. Then pick a mode: Work for me to have the steps carried out with your approval, or School to learn the game properly. Your password, card and ID fields are always yours to type — the assistant never touches them, and it never places a bet for you.

Betting is for adults only, and only where it is legal. If it stops being fun, stop — the limits above are free and reversible, and exclusion is permanent until you ask otherwise.
