How to Claim Your Spotify for Artists Profile

Claim the profile once a release is live, using the artist page's claim link and verifying with your distributor or label. After that you can control the photo, bio and pitching.

Have this ready

  • A live release on Spotify
  • Access to the distributor account
  • A profile image you own

Step by step

  1. 1Wait until at least one release is live on Spotify so an artist page exists.
  2. 2Open Spotify for Artists and start the claim for your artist name.
  3. 3Verify with the distributor or label that delivered the release, or through the profile details Spotify asks for.
  4. 4Once approved, upload a profile image that meets the size and rights requirements.
  5. 5Write a short bio with the facts a new listener needs, and add your links.
  6. 6Check the tour dates and merch sections if you use them.
  7. 7Pitch upcoming releases through the pitching tool at least a week before release.
Never buy a profile claim or a playlist placement from a third party. Use the platform's own tools, or you risk the artist page.

Want it done with you?

I can walk you through it in a Magic Box, show you the exact clicks, or do it with you and keep the recording. You log in yourself; I never see your password.

Common questions

Can I claim an artist name that is not mine?+

No. Spotify verifies with the distributor or label that delivered the music, so impersonation fails.

What if my artist page is merged with another artist?+

Report it through the artist support route with release links showing the error. Merges take time, so keep the request factual.

Does claiming help playlists?+

It gives you access to pitching and profile tools. Placement is still an editorial decision nobody can guarantee.
